During lunch hour, as there is a snaking queue of customers, you are only allowed to buy a maximum of three packets of Beh Teh Sor. Do try the Ang Ku Kueh too, which is recommended in the Ch8 '' Snack Attack'' show. Tau Sar Piah is also another recommended snack. The pastries are wiped up fast daily, so do come quick and I'm not kidding!

This is the Zhen Zhen Porridge Stall. Attracts long queue every single day. Waiting time around 45mins. Why it is so nice: Patrons of this stall swears by the fresh and generous ingredients. The porridge is Hainanese style, which is not as creamy like cantonese and not as light as teochew. Every grain is mashed into million pieces and cant be seen. Sells 30 bowls per hour and earns around $400 000 per month.The queue can stretch from one end to another of the hawker centre. The queue is always there. If you do not see a queue, do not be happy. They might have sold out their porridge or they have not opened at all.

Upgrade Notice For Blk 20 Marsling Lane Food Centre

The Blk 20 Marsiling Lane Food centre will be closing for renovation and upgrade to improve the deco, facilities of the market. The market will be opened for Busniess and 31st March will be their last day of operations. The whole hawker centre will be closed by 1st April.
So, this are the stalls relocated as follow

Do you know, nowadays when you eat Ban Mian,especially at Food Courts where they add loads of MSG and you have to gulp cups of cola or bowls of ice kacang to satisfy you thirst.

But all these are a thing of a past if you dine here. You can drink up the soup like a thirsty cow and not feeling thirsty at all.

The Ban Mian here is homemade. The owner here painstakingly roll doughs of doughs of Ban Mian everyday. The ingredients here are fresh and tasty!

As you can see, the prawn is so fresh, so bright. The meat pieces are of a good quality. The vegetables are fresh too. The soup is very important. The owner only cooks the soup once a day and once the soup runs out, the owner calls it a day and closes the stall. So remember to come early for your dose of healthy choice but delicious soup

Wah....Finally I have the time to post. Ok lets start. This is the Rochor Beancurd stall, as you can see. It is a beancurd household name in Singapore. This place. You come in the afternoons. So windy. People sitting in the alleys drinking their tau huays ( beancurds), seeing the world pass by, Nothing much to do.....Hahah, wait till you come here at night around 10pmto 11pm like..ON WEEKENDS and you will understand why I come here, ORDER, PAY and Go.Because

1. Bo tang zhor ( No place to seat)

2. Bo tang park ( No place to park, cars are parking at the 3rd LANE OF THE ROAD!)

3.It is crowded

Ok enough of these talkings.... Now for the EATING!

Verdict: The tau huay here...Oh, It is simply heaven. The soya milk drink ( tau huay zhui) is ...near mortals. Besides those Tau and Huays, They also sell Ang Ku Kueh and a wide selection of snacks ( Crystal Dumpling,peanut ball) and the also must try You Char Kuay a.k.a. the You Tiao. There is another beancurd stall beside it the 'Mineryin' or whatever. The beancurd ( i've tried, of course) is slightly (non-obvious)smoother than the original Beancurd stall BUT!!! THE FOLKS IN ERMINYINBEANCURD ADDED AN UNPLEASANT ESSENCE INTO THEIR BEANCURD TO MAKE IT SMOOTHER. As you know,..ya.. This is the stall set up by one of their siblings which falls out from the original stall.

This one, I have to say in particular, is one of the most delicious Cheng Tng I ever ate. Very traditional and delicious. I could say this is the most delicious Cheng Tng i ever ate. There is one guy, who tarpao at least 8 bowls and I guess he is a fan of this stall.

THE VERDICT:

Soup is cheng ( clear ), there are 12 Ingredients in this dessert instead of the ordinary 8. Order the cold one, it is better.

Dear all,

If you are wondering why you can't find the Famous National Library Wantan Mee which is operated by an old aunty at Far East Square, it is due to the closure of the Food Museum Food Court which houses the wantan mee stall. The whole food court has closed down and it is letting way to a Japanese Terriyaki Restaurant.
The wantan mee present location is at the Market Street Car Park Food Centre at Cecil Street, and the stall is just beside ''Mr Tea''. By the way, if you want to try the famous Anne's Peanut Ice Kacang, go to the main branch at Tanjong Pagar Food Centre as the stall at Far East Square is also gone.
(NB: This wantan mee stall is formerly from the old red National Library at Stamford Rd and it is commonly known as ''National Library wantan mee''It relocated to Joo Chiat, to Far East Square and now to Market street Carpark Food centre at Cecil street, the heart of CBD)

This is the Most Super Popular, Famous stall in Marsling market. You have to w8 at least 20mins during peak hours. The fish soup here is MSG free, and the soup is made up of fish bones and it is simply mouth watering. The ingridents is fresh and finger liking good. Very generous portions. Sells fried fish too. Fried Fish is also one of the stardish here. It is fried not too oily. it is just nice with the right amount od meat and dough.

This is the so called Most famous Tapioca Kueh Stall in singapore. It is located in maxwell Food Centre aka Maxwell Food Centre.The tapioca cake here is marvellous. The coconut floss is a first grade with no hint of sourness (This is probably why it closes 2pm every single day as the coconut will turn sour in the afternoons). The The cake melts in your mouth and it tis warm and comfortable.As for the ondeh ondeh, it is made right on the spot. The gula melaka filling is put inside and rooled. After it is rolled, it is dumped in a boiling pot of water, and a la minute later, it pops out and it is rolled on a plate of grated coconut.When u bite, the filings inside explodes.Ping Pong Ball size.No coloring are added.Do not have photo of ondeh ondeh cos they already sold out when I reached here. Try to go early around 10am and avoid going during lunch time as the queue is crazy. and dunt go after 1pm, they usually sells out by then.

Average waiting time is 20minutes. Chicken wing is the star as it is fried while u wait. Crispy on the outside and succlent in the inside. Every grain of the rice is filled with the essence of fresh coconut.

This is the branch of the famous DONUT FACTORY. There are now 2 branch. One at Raffles City and 1 at Suntec City. I went there last weekend, and u noe wat to expect.....A Queue.OKok.... Its not that bad. I heard reports that the queue at suntec is probaly only like 1hr-2hr long. Maybe because of the excellent organisation there...Over there, there is two queue. One is the takeaway lane, where you can bring back orange boxes filled with donuts, or the eat here lane, where you must eat inside the donut factory's cafe and order a maximum of only 2donut/person.At carrefour nearby, people are also selling ''fresh'' donuts at a cheaper price but from my side of view i dun tink is ''fresh''

Meanwhile at Raffles City, the queue is getting more and more ridiculous, with the queue over four parts looong and i guess.....ya...probaly it is 6hrs...

There are two desserts stall in BTFC. One is ''Dessert Tree'' and another one is '' Eng Kee Hot and Cold desserts. There is alot of variety, and most importantly, it is economical and has generous servings of ingridents.Very friendly too. Takeaway add 20 cents. Reccommend: ICe kacang: Simple, Cheap n Good. Three Flavours: Gula Melaka, Rose syrup n Green syrup.Four ingredients: Cendol stripes, Chin Chow, Attap Chee, Red Bean. Only $1.50. Most hot desserts only $1.

Stall 153. Very Fresh as turnover is high. The chap chai p'ng has alot of dishes 4 u to choose.Try the curry fish head. The Lor Bak ( Three layer meat with soyasauce) is finger-liking good!! The chilli sauce is sour and not so spicy so u can safely add chilli to yr dish. Steam fish wif the chilli sauce is a good match. Very traditional teochew cusine. Cheap n Good.

I noe all of u have heard of KrispyKreme in the US btw have u all heard of Donut Factory, in Raffles City??? (Picture: The stall)The qUEUE is atrocious, and it takes a leg-numbering 3 hours to get to the counter!! The record was 7 hours.But..I took 2hours+ just to get 1 dozen of donuts.

Soft, delightful, but not worth the wait...

BEWARE: In front of the store there is a short queue only.But the starting of the queue is near the optical shop, so do not be tricked

Chop Tai Chong Kok ( Big China) Cake Shop

Wow!!!! The yummy cakes. I wish I could gulp in 1 go!!!

This shop has been operating since 1930's/40's and the bad thing is, unless u spent a lot on the cakes, he will not give u the special ''big china'' bag. Instead he will give you only a plastic bag. Crowded during C.N.Y
