National Library Wantan Mee:Relocation Notice

Dear all,

If you are wondering why you can't find the Famous National Library Wantan Mee which is operated by an old aunty at Far East Square, it is due to the closure of the Food Museum Food Court which houses the wantan mee stall. The whole food court has closed down and it is letting way to a Japanese Terriyaki Restaurant.

The wantan mee present location is at the Market Street Car Park Food Centre at Cecil Street, and the stall is just beside ''Mr Tea''and by the way, if you want to try the famous Anne's Peanut Ice Kacang, go to the main branch at Tanjong Pagar Food Centre as the stall at Far East Square is also gone.

(NB: This wantan mee stall is formerly from the old red National Library at Stamford Rd and it is commonly known as ''National Library wantan mee''It relocated to Joo Chiat, to Far East Square and now to Market street Carpark Food centre at Cecil street, the heart of CBD)

Hi everyone, just found out that the famous national library wanton mee has moved again. Apparently, the "Mr Tea" people cheated the old lady of about 20k and kicked her out. She is now looking for a place and most likely to move somewhere near China st. I heard this from a frind of hers.

I think the old lady should just take whatever's left of her money and retire. Can you imagine how long she's been doing this? I ate her wonton mee when I was in Sec school; that is about 28 years ago!
Now my kids r in Sec school

A bit "sian", if you ask me....

Hi again, yes she is quite the trooper. I'm not sure I'll have the same gusto as she does to keep working past my 60s even.

But I was walking past China street the other day and she has rebounded and opened up at Far East Square on China St side. It's opposite Don's Pies.

The place is not air conditioned but sheltered well and plenty of seats.

I went back later to try her noodle again. Yum!

Anyway, if you're interested, it's on the corner of the building.
